So I'm a bit torn on the election. The state/local candidates and propositions I have down and have made my decision. My general philosophy is that I'm OK with paying more taxes as long as it is benefiting someone that needs help or going to the greater good. Such as education, safe roads to travel on, helping the environment, helping a mother provide for her children, etc.
Many of the state issues are pretty easy. Basically is Jan Brewer is for it I am probably against it, haha. OK in all seriousness we agreed on one issue and I can't even remember which one. I will have my cheat sheet on Tuesday though.
The presidential candidates, I am torn. I don't like Romney, I don't think taxing the middle class is the answer nor do I think getting rid of PBS is either. He's sexist, homophobic, and basically against anyone that makes less than 250k a year. His answer as a business man was to ship jobs overseas. America isn't a business, you have that kind of thinking then you are setting yourself up to fail.
Obama. Ugh Obama. I know he really has tried, I get it. I like the fact he isn't a sexist, homophobic jerk. I just have this feeling Mittens may take this one.
Then there is Gary Johnson and Jill Stein. They have basically the same viewpoints on everything I stand for... but voting for either one of them is basically voting for Mitt.
So the real struggle I am having is will things improve with Obama in a 2nd term? Should I really vote for him? Now it comes down to: who is the lesser of the two evils. If I'm ok with Obama not getting a 2nd term, should I vote for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein or should I still stick with Obama.
I have a couple of days to decide so we shall see what happens.
